The Beguinage
Collections
Beguines, the history of Anderlecht, religious and daily life
The Beguinage collections revolve around two themes: religious life and the history of Anderlecht and daily life in the area from Roman and Merovingian times to the Industrial Revolution and beyond. The future Beguinage Museum will be a place focused on both the history of the beguines who lived there for several centuries and the history of Anderlecht. These themes will be presented separately in the two wings of the building.
The new museum concept will highlight the research done in recent years into the history of the site, its archives, and the collections themselves.
