The Anderlecht beguinage is a remarkable heritage site in Brussels and in Belgium. It is in an exceptional state of preservation, which has revealed in recent years the presence of an old wooden panelled building dating from the beginning of the 15th century, enlarged in the 16th century, then finally preserved in part in the heart of new traditional-style buildings in brick and white stone, erected for the most part at the beginning of the 18th century. A guide invites you to discover its history.
The new Beguinage Museum will open in 2025.

This house, where Erasmus, the humanist from Rotterdam, stayed in 1521, is one of the oldest in Brussels (1450-1515). The museum houses a unique collection of Renaissance furniture, paintings (Bosch, Metsys, van der Weyden), engravings (Holbein, Dürer), and a library rich with thousands of ancient editions. The Medicinal Plants Garden and the Philosophical Garden combine pleasure and knowledge.
